Who are Sad Studio?

It is an independent art institution working in the field of experimental design and publishing, headquartered in Cairo.

Focusing on the production of art books, decorations, and exhibitions, it combines graphic design with research and educational practices. It aims to explore alternative forms of publishing and connect design to local and global visual culture through collaborations with artists, designers, and independent collectives.

Moira Ali

Co-founder & Head of Design

Moira is the Co-founder and Head of Design at Saad Studio. She oversees the design department and leads the programming of workshops, zines, and art books, with a focus on publishing and print experimentation. As a designer and lecturer at the German University in Cairo, she brings a collaborative and pedagogical lens to her work, shaping Saad’s visual projects with structure, depth, and a bold, multidisciplinary spirit.

Omar Moftah

Co-founder & Creative Director

Omar is the Co-founder and Creative Director at Saad Studio. He leads on all photography-related work across the studio; from analog shoots and image curation to film development and archiving. As a cinematographer with a deep interest in image-making and visual memory, he shapes the studio’s photo books and visual narratives. Omar manages the studio's resource planning and projects budgeting, provides creative input across projects, and ensures alignment between artistic vision and production realities at Saad.
Aya kamel

Project Manager

Project Manager at Saad Studio, Aya ensures that creative, operational, and collaborative projects run smoothly from concept to execution. She is the central link between the studio’s co-founders, collaborators, service providers, and audiences; coordinating logistics, managing timelines, and supporting communication and documentation. With her organizational skills and background in marketing and cultural communications, she contributes to maintaining Saad's creative flow while keeping all moving parts aligned.
Neamma Khaled

Co-founder & Head of Production

Neamma leads the strategic direction, production, outreach, and external relationships at Saad Studio. She is responsible for building sustainable frameworks for the studio’s growth, from fundraising and partnerships to communications and creative positioning. With a focus on collaboration, visibility, outreach, and long-term vision, she ensures that Saad operates as both an independent creative hub and a viable cultural initiative.
