ABOUT BASSANT DAWOUD:
Bassent Dawoud, born in Cairo in 1996, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts. She is a visual artist, illustrator, and children’s book designer.She won the Etisalat Award for Children’s Literature – Poetry Category (2024) for her book “Trees Color Life” and has published numerous books with both local and international publishers
She has been nominated for several awards, including the Bologna Children’s Book Fair Illustrator Exhibition shortlist, the Sawiris Cultural Award longlist for Children’s Book Illustration, and the Arab Publishers’ Meeting Award shortlist. She also received the Green Award and second prize at the Ouka Awards in Iraq for an unpublished silent book.
Her works have been exhibited in various international events, most notably the Sharjah Reading Festival, the Hiii Illustration Award in China (Children’s Illustration Category), and Illustrofest in Serbia. In addition, Dawoud has conducted several art workshops for both children and adults.
