ABOUT THE MASTERCLASS:

We'll take you on a complete journey of hand-drawn lettering, from gathering references and sketching ideas to finalizing your work digitally on screen. We'll discuss design principles using Glyphs software, how to build strong word structures, and how to add character and personality to letters using the Type Cooker method. We'll also learn how to maintain letter symmetry and refine details to achieve a flawless final result.

ABOUT EMAN FIKRI:

Eman Fikri is a graphic designer and educator from Egypt, specializing in Arabic calligraphy, and she currently works as a typeface designer.She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the German University in Cairo, where she later taught after graduating, focusing on typography and branding courses. Her teaching practice centers on highlighting Arab visual culture beyond the colonial framework of design.She was a participant in the first edition of the Arabic Letter Lab workshop in Amman, and went on to take part in several other experimental type design workshops led by experts in the field. She now leads her own lettering workshops.
